Excite! Gym & Cheer out of Highland Village TX fields 14 different levels of cheerleading teams in both All Star and All Star Prep as well as a half season team and a special athlete’s team. The 2015-2016 Season proved to be a very successful year for Excite! All Star Cheer. Two teams, Dynamite, Junior Level 1 and Fame, Senior Level 2 took home 1st place banners and at-large bids to THE SUMMIT! at a competition in St Louis, MO in November of 2015. THE SUMMIT is the most competitive competition in the world and is only attended by teams that are invited. It is held annually at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at the Disney World in Orlando in May and attracts thousands of cheer teams from around the world, every one of them a championship winning team that is a top scorer at their level. To say the least it is an honor to be invited, and Excite! was honored and ready to compete.

This year’s trip marked a couple of firsts for Excite! It was the first time for Excite! to take two competitive All Star teams THE SUMMIT in Orlando and Team Fame was our first senior level team to compete.  Team Dynamite was making its third trip.

Fame and Dynamite both had amazing first round performances each receiving   “Zero Deduction” routines. Dynamite advanced to the finals in 3rd place, a first for Excite! Dynamite finished the competition in 9th place out of competitive pool of over 75 teams.  While Fame just missed the finals in a competitive pool of over 75 teams. Julie Hutchens, the Owner of Excite! Gym & Cheer was proud of all the Excite! athletes and their families and came away with more than they could have hoped for. “The unity of our program, coaches, athletes and parents was on display and so strong all weekend. It is what makes Excite! so special, the relationships it builds and the sportsmanship, leadership and love it teaches.” The road to summit was filled with amazing memories, hard work and really helped us to complete another phenomenal season as an Ohana (Hawaiian for family). We are so proud of all the athletes and so thankful for all our parents, and looking forward to the 2016-2017 season.”
